Finding Purchase
The dandelion seed
that blows in the wind
appears to have no direction,
no purpose to its travels.
Yet it carries with it
a single goal,
a sole motivation
to find purchase in
good soil and
to live.
I am not that seed.
I was travelling to
a clear destination,
and yet now I find myself
blown sideways, carried
on a sudden eddy.
So now I find myself
fighting to find purchase,
grabbing hold of any
blade of grass that
bends in my passing.
Now with no idea
of what I should be
searching for like the
seed I hold onto
a single goal, a
sole motivation
to find purchase in
good soil and
to live.
