Working on my cycling tan

45km clocked this morning sans sunblock.  Oops.  I should have known better.  I've got a nice watch mark as well!

What a great ride though.  The wind disappeared overnight and this morning saw me cruising easily around the bays with a big grin on my face looking out at the glassy harbour and, once again, thanking whatever karmic history got me to this point in my life on this beautiful day.

Nice work! It was stinking hot today, wasn't it?
I piked out of riding down the hill to SH1 (a right turn at traffic lights at the bottom of a steep hill onto the motorway is all my worst cycling nightmares at once...) and settled for a nice wee brick, including a ten minute climb up the hill, and some run/walking on steep trails. Bliss.

Kate: That right turn sounds like my idea of hell! You chose the right option with the brick I think. I promised myself I wouldn't run this week. Although my ankle's feeling good I can tell it will flare up again if I try. Sigh ...

Marshmallow: Yep, I'm my own heat source right now! I'm doing myself a favour and staying out of the sun today. Some in-gym cardio and a Balance class I think! I'm feeling like such an idiot ...
