Uprising - New Years 2007

When the music first plays
space and time twitch and
the earth stretches and curves
upwards to embrace us.
This place loves parties.
So we celebrate in the sun,
the rain, and under night skies.
On the last morning small children
make mud statues at the front
of the main zone then
plant branches upwards
in the ground to create an
en-tranced forest fertilised
by deep organic sound.
I crouch down and place
my hands on her cool
moist flanks. My
heart’s downbeat calls
to her, warm blood
flowing down arms into
the earth. Her upbeat
surges through my flesh,
ochre red.
We sing in unison
for a while, we
create our own
earth acoustic rhythm
and around us
other people dance.

Nice imagery- I like the strong connections to nature, particularly trees that you write so joyously about.
"space and time twitch"
"her cool moist flanks"
"our own earth acoustic rhythym" (love that)

This is a very good sketch poem. I really like that style.

was caught by how you use the downbeat of your heart and the upbeat of the earth...perfectly tied into the rhythm of the dance...and a very nice picturing of the connection...energy moving back & forth & through...you & the earth. good job.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I'll try to get the hang of it!

Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point. You obviously know what youre talking about, why waste your intelligence on just posting videos to your weblog when you could be giving us something enlightening to read?
